Jasper park warns to watch for caribou herds on highway
Park staff warn about using caution when driving through areas used by caribou. A large amount of wildlife mortality is due to vehicle collision in the mountain parks. In 2010, 118 ungulates (elk, moose, sheep, and goats) and 14 large carnivores (wolves, bears, coyotes) were struck and killed along Jasper’s highways.
