Welcoming a Visiting Collaborator

Dr. Pierre-Yves Daoust, Director of CWHC-Atlantic, and his colleague, James Simonee, Inuk hunter in Pond Inlet, NU, are continuing their sampling work on determinants of health in ringed seals of Eclipse Sound, NU.  Pierre-Yves has been in Pond Inlet a few times to accompany James on his hunts and collect blood and tissue samples from the seals that he harvests and at the same time better understand the life history of these animals through James’ comments.

This past September, it was James’ turn to spend a bit of time at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), to better understand the kind of work that Pierre-Yves does on a day-to-day basis (i.e. lots and lots of necropsies) and meet some of his AVC and CWHC colleagues.
