We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Émilie L. Couture as Assistant Professor in Wildlife Health at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire of the Université de Montréal. Dr. L. Couture is well acquainted with the work of the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative (CWHC), having contributed to it during her residency program in Zoological Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Stéphane Lair. After working as a veterinarian at the Zoo de Granby, Dr. L. Couture has been employed as a part-time temporary veterinarian with the CWHC Quebec regional centre. She also became a diplomate of the American College of Zoological Medicine and is currently completing a master’s program on beluga health.

Dr. L. Couture will be based at the FMV satellite campus in Rimouski, Quebec’s oceanographic capital. This geographic location will foster the continuation of her research on marine mammal health and her collaboration with the CWHC.

We wish her every success in her new role within the FMV and the CWHC Quebec regional centre.
