Veterinary Residency Program in Wildlife Health Management
The CWHC Quebec Regional Centre, located at the Université de Montréal, is offering a 3-year residency program in Wildlife Health Management. This intensive clinical / paraclinical training, offered in collaboration with the Zoo de Granby, meets the requirements of the American College of Zoological Medicine, targeting the Wildlife Health certifying examination.

Dr. Émilie L. Couture, former resident at the Quebec Regional Centre, and Stéphane Lair, regional director and mentor of the residency program, examining a beluga whale calf found dead in the St. Lawrence estuary. Dr. Couture currently works as a veterinarian at the Zoo de Granby and is a CWHC associate.
The resident will participate to the activities of the CWHC Regional Centre at the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire. This centre offers expertise in wildlife pathology and clinical services in wildlife health. Rotations in the Service de médecine zoologique (Clinique des oiseaux de proie), the Zoo de Granby, the Aquarium du Québec and some governmental agencies are also part of the program. The resident is required to complete a research project in the field of wildlife health management. The realization in parallel of a M.Sc. degree in wildlife epidemiology is highly recommended. An optional year of fellowship could be available at the end of the program.
