Summer student experience at the CCWHC

Now entering his third year at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Tony Redford has learned a great deal about wildlife through his summer work with the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health Centre (CCWHC).   His previous work with the CCWHC Western and Northern regional office included capturing and monitoring mule deer fawns for the Saskatchewan Chronic Wasting Disease research project, supervised by by Dr. Trent Bollinger, a WCVM associate professor and the Western and Northern regional director for the CCWHC.  This past summer, Redford spent analyzing trends in wildlife disease in British Columbia.  His summer position also allowed him to gain some hands on necropsy experience during his time at the BC Animal Health Centre lab in Abbotsford.
