New Necropsy Facility in Québec
A new facility in Québec has opened its doors and has helped to improve the diagnostic capabilities of the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health Centre office in the region. The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) has recently opened a new veterinary diagnostic facility in St. Hyacinthe (Québec), next to the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l’Université de Montréal (FMV). This state-of-the-art veterinary pathology laboratory houses animal health professionals from both the MAPAQ and the FMV. The new necropsy room includes a section dedicated to wildlife pathology used by the CCWHC – Québec Regional Center for its on-going program of surveillance of wildlife diseases.
