Congratulations to Dr. Todd Shury
The CWHC would like to congratulate Dr. Todd Shury on the successful completion of his PhD earlier this month.
Todd is a wildlife veterinarian with the Parks Canada Agency and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Veterinary Pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. He is involved in clinical aspects of diagnosis, surveillance, control and management of a number of infectious diseases of wildlife in Canada including chronic wasting disease, anthrax, brucellosis and bovine tuberculosis. His research interests involve the epidemiology of bovine tuberculosis in cattle and wildlife in southern Manitoba, which is the topic of his PhD thesis, as well as the ecology of sylvatic plague, validation of diagnostic tests in bison, management of hyperabundant wildlife populations, and chemical immobilization of wild animals.
